Our core BGP+ network is built on Cisco 6500 series switches running 720 3BXL supervisors, connected to our core server network based on Cisco 4000 series catalyst switches.

WFCS choose the Cisco 4000 series to be at the heart of its internal core network. With switching capabilities reaching over 60Gb/s and the ability to house up to 240 x 10/100/1000 network ports, these units are ideal for a port hungry layer 2 switched internal networks.

Each unit runs a combination of 10/100, 10/100/1000 along with short haul fibre interfaces and functions fully redundantly via 3 hot swap power supplies.
